Ilisei Olga was born in 1991, in Moldova, where she lived until 2009, discovering gradually her talent as early as school. Since then, painting accompanied her everytime, involving her in the world of art more and more. Her interest in art took her to "George Enescu" University of Arts in Iasi, Romania, where she met the contemporary art. This gave her the possibility to experience painting in many styles and materials, to participate in different projects and group exhibitions.
By the end of studies, she elaborated her own style, that is oil painting in a specific blue-violet palette of colours that combine realistic and abstract elements. The sky and clouds occupy an important part of the works, and are like a connection between the man and an intangible, transcendental world. They gives to compositions atmosphere, ease and serenity. Olga has a preference for conceptual art, she is interested in human soul states and try to express an invisible energy that lives in every of us. The most important source of inspiration is the universe and astrology. Olga believes that stars give energy to our soul in its earth travel.
She practices oil painting in layers, and give to old chiaroscuro technique a contemporary look through fresh colours and interesting composition. Some of the artists who influenced her style were Sabin Balasa, a famous romanian painter, whose art is characterised as cosmic romanticism, and Andrew Gonzalez, who describes his style as "mystical love poems to the soul".
Now, Olga is working and living in London, UK, and she is still at the beginning of her art career. She wants people to view her works and so they will give them some time of pleasure and contemplation.
